WANT to know
more-Below are some Frequently Asked
Questions:
Where will our campsite be?
Workampers® are given sites from #72 to #101.
We have selected these sites for you because
they are larger than the average site and
include added parking spaces both in front
of and behind the site.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What will our campsite include? Your
site will come complete with access to city
water and sewer, cable, 30-amp electrical service,
a barbecue grill, a fire ring, and a picnic
table. Local telephone lines are
available at your cost.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What area amenities are offered?
Camp-Sandusky has on site a 24-hour laundry
and 24-hour restrooms. Within just a few
minutes travel time (under ten minutes),
there is a 24-hour Kroger food store, a
24-hour Meijer store, and a 24-hour WalMart
store. If you are interested in big city
shopping, Camp-Sandusky is centrally located
between Toledo and Cleveland, with travel
time being just about an hour to either
city.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can we bring our boat? Yes, you are
welcome to bring your boat. Camp-Sandusky is
only about five minutes away from Sandusky Boat Launch, a local public boat ramp into
the protected harbor of Sandusky Bay which,
in turn, leads into beautiful Lake Erie.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do we both have to work 20 hours? No.
The work commitment is 20 hours for the site. The time can be worked by one person or split. .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can we work together? Maybe. Although
we normally schedule husbands and wives to
the same working hours, you may or may not
be working side by side. That will depend on
your individual areas of expertise as well
as on the campground's needs at any given
time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What will I be doing? We have found
that Workampers® are happiest and most
productive when they are busy working at
those jobs most suited to their skills and
talents. We will make every effort to assign
you to chores that fit your individual area
of expertise. There will be occasions,
however, when you will be asked to work
outside your area of expertise depending on
what needs to be done at the campground that
day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is our minimum time commitment to be
Workampers®? You may stay with us for as
little as a month (30 days).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is our maximum time commitment to be
Workampers®? The maximum length of your
working stay at Camp-Sandusky is six months.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you guarantee us 40 hours of work per
week? Guarantees are hard to come by!
But everyone generally gets all of the hours
they want. In fact, we frequently run out of
people before we run out of work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How much will we be paid? Our current
pay scale for Workampers® starts at $6.85 per hour (for hours worked above
your combined total of 20 hours). There is also a $1000 bonus for workampers® who stay 15 weeks or more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How often will we be paid? You'll
receive a paycheck every two weeks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you pay us in cash? Absolutely
not. You will receive a Camp-Sandusky
paycheck on a scheduled basis in the same
manner as our other employees.
